And what I say about me:
Nicholas Martin Paul Hardman is my full name and I was born in 1983 in Bury (Lancashire, England). As a child, I received a Mechano set for Christmas and when I made the motor move slightly, I showed my dad and he taught me how to make it spin properly. I was amazed.

A few of years later, my parents gave me a Spectrum+2 computer and one day I decided to copy code from the manual made the pong game in BASIC. I went to Bury C of E High School and made a friend called Ben Hogg who showed me how to input and output text. Through trial and error, I taught myself graphics and made songs using the beep command. I had started to wonder what else I can make a computer do. I met a friend called Andrew Brown who shared an interest in computers and his father helped me build my first PC.

At 16, I went on to Holy Cross College to study Physics, Maths and Computing. I have a real interest in technology and question how everything works.

Digital Output Brain In September 2001, I moved 200 miles away from home to study BSc Artificial Intelligence at the University of Luton. When ever anyone says the words artificial intelligence, people think of a world like in the matrix. I chose this course so one day I could work on the cutting edge of technology.

In June 2003 I decided to transfer to the University of Bradford to study BSc Cybernetics with Virtual Worlds. Cybernetics is the science of control. I am learning how to mathematically model systems in the real world and manipulate the state of the system to my desire. Later in the course I will be using VRML to create virtual reality.

University is the time of my career when I have most freedom. Taking advantage of this, when I moved to Luton, I dyed my hair blue. It gives people a conversation starter, which makes me easier to talk to. It has many other advantages such as giving the impression that I like a joke, making me easy to find and hard to forget. My hair is currently brown, as employers can are less likely to offer you a job when you have blue hair. I plan to dye it blue again, when the time comes...

Hopefully, when I graduate, I will take a futher course MSc Nano Electronics with Nano Mechanics which will open up the door to technologies currently impossible with todays manufacturing techniques. On completion of my MSc Course, I hope to work in industrial robotics and continue to study part time.

I am an increadibly innovative person and have set up a website to manage all my ideas. Every idea is a good idea, and 1 in 100 are awesome.

Chemical Emotions

Here is a theory of mine: Everybody knows that the brain controls the body so the way i see it, everything is a state of mind. You decide what mood you are in, what you enjoy, what you want to do. If emotions are just chemicals produced by your body to change the way you feel, is it a good idea to let these chemicals change your decisions?

The point is, If your brain gives your body the instruction to do something, it will. Why be held back by barriers in your head? The constraints society teaches hold us back whilst we think we are free to do as we choose. If you want to do something, DO IT! Its better to regret doing something than to regret trying something! *This does not apply when there is a risk of death!
